Knowing the definition of NASDAQ is not enough - you also have to understand how the exchange works in order to make the right investment decisions. Knowing that the NASDAQ stock exchange is a computerized system for trading OTC stocks puts you ahead of the game when it comes to investing. Being able to include stocks from the NASDAQ stock market can be a great way to ensure that your investment portfolio grows. Many investors like the NASDAQ not only for its benchmark tech stocks - which are included in the NASDAQ 100 and other indexes -- but also because following the NASDAQ gives sophisticated investors an idea of how the stock market is doing overall.
